Just a thought:
I’ve been on Twitter for close to three years now and I’ve followed a lot of people in that time. Anecdotally, I’d like to say that a lot of them have become great sources of knowledge. Statistically, however, I worry that the bulk of the people I follow aren’t providing me with the kind of information I’m looking for (re: journalism and new/social media).
Pruning my followers would be tedious, so I’m wondering if it’s crazy to un-follow everyone and start over. Or perhaps there’s a better option, like building a new List and using that as my main feed.
I can’t be the first person to have thought of this. We all experimented with Twitter at some point and followed accounts that weren’t as interesting/helpful/engaging as we had hoped.
What are your thoughts (as I watch my follow count plummet)?
